I turned the doorknob slowly. Inside of the classroom, only the faint ticks of a clock filled the heavy silence.
I was alone again.
Alone with him.
Sunlight streamed through unopened blinds, casting golden lines on the bookshelf by the window. His back was facing me, his familiar white button down hiding those beautiful muscles I had once felt. His blonde hair was a mess, swooping down the back of his head like art.
"Sir?" My voice was a tremble, but Laurier took a sharp breath, a ragged reminder of his desire for me.
"Yes, Esther?" Louis tapped his long fingers on the arm of his chair, each sound synchronized with the clock on the wall.
The confession came out before I could process my words. "I need help. Tutoring."
The tapping of his fingers halted.
"Can you help me?" I stepped closer, the click of my flats meeting the wooden floors. "I'll be good for you. I promise." I couldn't help the way my voice slipped into a silky tone, the honeylike pitch of my innocent voice. I needed him to want me back.
I needed to corrupt him.
Laurier began moving his fingers in front of him, and I didn't understand what he was doing, until I heard the metal of a belt loop snapping open.
My cheeks burned red at the sight.
He snaked the brown leather off his hips, a painfully slow dance I was succumbing to, and twirled the tail of the belt in his slender hand. Laurier clenched his fist, and I watched his body, a breath lodged in the back of my throat.
He is poetry embodied.
I think I am captive under the spell of his beauty.
His voice was dark, low, vibrating through the thin cotton of my skirt.
"Yeah. You will."
