The roof top of Aldera high school was a significant place- or rather, the ground directly below it.
With the appearance of a ghost in Bakugo's life, he's plagued with new questions.
What life does he deserve?
What opportunities should he take?
What has Bakugo taken that should've belonged to the dead?
Aside from these, there is one thing Bakugo can never say to the ghost.
Cause what if Goodbye makes it real?

This is a Bakugo-centric fanfic in which I've explored the possible turn Bakugo's character would've taken if Midoriya took his advice. As well as that, what turn the story would've taken- Bakugo's friends, All Might's successor, possible events.
This is a self indulgent story centered around my desire to give Bakugo a somewhat endearing story- which is highly redemptive.
I may add that if you appreciate Midoriya-centric works I am planning a sequel in which he magically comes back to life (I'm working on the plot ok?) and it's basically Bakugo's path to forgiving himself.
I will not ship the two because there will be an age gap I'm not ready to tackle, so don't worry.
Actually this is a nonship work because I can't do that lol.
This work is roughly 60,000 words long so it did take me forever to right and it might take you longer than you're used to in order to read.

Shinsou always wanted to be a hero despite being told he has a villain Quirk throughout his life. Now he's been in the Hero Course for two months, and feels that hope weakening, knowing he's the reason Kaminari and Sero's friendship is ruined. Bakugo doesn't make him feel any better with his unexplained hatred of him-but if Shinsou's being honest, he doesn't like him either. Not when he knows Bakugo told Midoriya to go take a swan-dive off of the roof of a building to get a Quirk in middle school. Things worsen when an American transfer joins class 1-A and comes to the same conclusion everyone does about him in one day -because Shinsou proved her right. As emptiness swallows him whole like a casket shutting out the light, he considers that maybe Bakugo had a point on how to get a Quirk to become a hero. What he doesn't consider, is that Bakugo would not only stop him, but the two would be stuck together by All Might's word because of Shinsou's very decision. In which Shinsou Hitoshi is a selective mute who hates burdening others trying to become a hero, and gives up after failing to get a different Quirk via a swan-dive. Or, a deeper bisection on how Quirks put expectations on their metahuman wielders, especially those who get viewed as villains for a power they didn't ask to be born with. That explodes into a tale of two men learning to love each other and themselves :) THIS IS NOT A CHARACTER X READER/SELF-INSERT. Warnings: Suicide attempt and thoughts. Basically, It's another story about Aizawa finding out about the bullying problems Midoriya has had/ is having. Also includes Present Mic and All Might being worried dads. _ When Midoriya finally made it into UA, He knew it would be different. He wasn't sure how much, but it had to be different! Of course, the work and how the school works would be different, but he hoped the people there would be different, too. Mostly because he had a quirk now. He wasn't useless anymore and he was definitely not quirkless anymore. In all honesty, Midoriya didn't expect all the kindness he was receiving from his peers and teachers. Surely, the teachers knew he was quirkless beforehand, right? If they knew.. then why didn't they hate him? Besides All Might, he expected them to dislike him. (Midoriya only thought All Might cared because he used to be quirkless too.. but it was better than nothing.) However, with his friends, he was happier. He didn't even know how to act around friends, but he tried.. Even if deep down Midoriya knew he couldn't trust anybody-- And he didnt trust anybody-- he still tried. Oh well, why didn't he trust them? Simple. He had the mindset that, 'If they knew he was quirkless, it would be middle school all over again.' He was protecting himself, just in case they found out. If they found out and stopped being friends with him, well it would be okay. He was prepared. He had to be. So, in the end, he didn't tell anybody about his old quirkless ways. Not that he had to tell anybody, right? He had a quirk, so it shouldn't matter anymore, right? Wrong. Who says the bullying and its effects ever go away? How would he ever be able to explain the messages he gets during the day from old classmates? After Bakugo spends his whole life competing Izuku to be the best, they both land at rock bottom, or at least it feels that way to Bakugo.
