It's been two years since Alex had been found and brought home by Aiken, and yet....everything feels off. Alex hasn't been talking to or touching Aiken like he used to, and it's concerning the 19 year old.
Aiken decides to go to his mother and ask what could be wrong, but the answer isn't something he wants to hear. The answer he receives bothers him greatly, leading him to eat less and isolate himself from friends and family, much to the concern of said friends and family.

The Reluctant Hero.
The story is set in Niriyain, an interdimensional prison world where those who enter can never leave. Cal, the son of two prisoners-Suilenroc, a thief, and Akemit, a disgraced nurse-has spent his life resenting the chains of a system that punishes him for the crimes of his parents. Living on the outskirts of society, Cal survives by helping others in need, especially the orphans and outcasts of the outer rim. One day, Cal takes a job to scavenge in the mysterious Unknown Region, an uncharted and dangerous part of Niriyain. There, he and his companions awaken the Unbeknownst, a godlike entity tied to Niriyain itself. The Unbeknownst tests the group, and only Cal passes. As a reward, the entity offers him a wish, but when Cal asks for ultimate power, the Unbeknownst can only partially grant it due to the restrictions of its kind. Instead, it transforms Cal into its herald, granting him the Power of Tri-control over the mind, body, and soul. Now imbued with incredible but dangerous abilities, Cal struggles with his new identity. The power begins to alienate him from those around him, even as he feels the weight of the Unbeknownst's expectations. Meanwhile, the ruling High Council-a group of ruthless overseers who maintain strict control over Niriyain-becomes aware of Cal's newfound power and sees him as a threat to their secret plans. As Cal begins to uncover the horrors perpetrated by the High Council, including experiments that turn people into mindless soldiers with glowing green markings, he realizes the extent of their cruelty and the chains they've placed on the people of Niriyain. There is, however, an underground world of others like her, a criminal empire working toward something she had been trying to stop. But with no knowledge of what the villainous plan was, who these criminals were, or how to properly use her powers, things seem grim. She knows she is the only one who can stop them, and the only backup she has is a man who claims to have been her friend from before the accident. What does spoiled milk and superpowers have in common Absolutely nothing. Of course, that's not what young Desmond Reid thought when his mother sent him on an errand one afternoon to receive some milk from a local grocery store. Upon his return home, and after having a glass, Desmond ends up having a seizure on the kitchen floor and blacks out. When he wakes up, he discovers he's been transmitted to a hospital and it's been two weeks since his little episode. Upon his return to reality, however, things change. Desmond Reid's ordinary life changes one morning when he wakes up and discovers his body levitating above his bed. Ever since then, the 17-year-old, high school senior has been getting extreme migraines and constant nosebleeds. After a trip to the doctor's office, young Desmond is told he is suffering from the changes of puberty, which, of course, Desmond finds extremely hard to believe-especially when he manages to stop an oncoming bus. It's then Desmond gets the idea that he could have superpowers, and after an intense amount of research, he learns he has the gift of telekinesis-the ability to lift or move objects with the power of one's mind. This convinces Desmond to take up the mantle of a superhero. After spending weeks training to harness abilities, not to mention going about his normal school life, and buying a costume online, Desmond thinks he's ready to hit the streets. However, his first night on the job as a superhero doesn't go as planned and as time goes by, he begins to question whether or not his powers are a gift, or a terrible curse. Things seem to go from bad to worse when men in black suits start following Desmond and his mother ends up being kidnapped by a man named Augustine, who claims to want Desmond's blood to rid the world of disease. Desmond must use his new found powers if he's to escape from Augustine's wrath and save his mother's life.Complete
