Sa mundo ating ginagalawan marami ibat ibang tao ang atin makikilala, mayroong mabuti ang kalooban at may hindi naman maganda, lalo na sa pamilya. Ang pamilya ko ay kilala bilang mga magagaling na mage, lahat sa amin may talento na tinatawag na mahika, yung kuya ko ay nakakapalutang ng mga kahit anong bagay, yung pangalawa kong kuya ay makakalabas ng kahit anong sandata sa kanyang mga kamay at ang papa ko ay makakabuhat ng mga mabibigat na bagay, lahat sila may talento pwera nalang sakin at ang tawag sa amin na katulad ko ay "lowlife" ibig sabihin walang kwenta kasi wala kaming mahika. Nakakalungkot na pangtanggap na wala talaga akong mahika, napapa isip ako na baka ampon lang ako ng aking papa at ilang beses ko nayan tinatanong kay mama ko ng nandito pa sya.
"papa ampon po ba ako?" tanong na batang ako.
Napatigil sa pag buhat si papa ng malaking bato at tumingin sakin na para bang isa akong insekto.
"wag mo akong estorbohin sa mga walang kwentang tanong mo" sabi nya at nagpatuloy na sa trabaho.
Kahit nga ang panganay kong kuya ay hindi ako pinapansin o kaya sinusungitan ako habang ang pangalawa naman kong kuya ay nginitian lang ako ng malungkot at inaya ako sa loob ng bahay.
Hindi ko maiintindihan kung bakit ba ayaw sakin ng isang kuya ko at ng ama ko, kahit mga kapit bahay namin o kaya lahat ng tao sa baryo ay ayaw sakin, yung matatanda naman ay kesyo daw "lowlife" ako na ayaw ko naman paniwalaan.
Kakapit parin ako sa pangako ng mama ko na hahanap ako ng paraan pag laki ko kung bakit iba ako, pero....iba nga ba ako?
