Before Katherine and Annabelle were turned, the girls met a family who held secrets. Annabelle wasn't expecting to fall in love with Klaus as Katherine was supposed to get Klaus to fall for her, but she didn't. He had eyes for Annabelle.

When Katherine discovered why Klaus was with her sister, she killed herself with vampire blood in her system and forced Annabelle to drink her blood and killed her, but when her sister fed, she threw Annabelle in a tomb that will keep her safe from Klaus.
