Fire and Ice

The first time the world was divided, it was only done so metaphorically. The side of Fire consisted of those who wielded the physical element of fire and flames, and the same goes for the side of Ice- those who wielded powers of frost and ice. For the most part everyone lived in peace with one another, enjoying normal lives and creating families. Even after some time, children began to acquire additional unique and unusual abilities.

The second time, however, the world was divided physically, when the Great War began. It started in 2112, as a result of several large countries coming together to form a unified government. Its new laws and policies however, were not widely accepted and many smaller countries fought back. For twelve years the war was waged over many countries, destroying land and claiming many lives.

24 year old Nikole Amato and her twin brother lead a small group of survivors in what used to be known as Los Angeles in the state of California. The group consists of a number of peculiar individuals from all backgrounds; those who remain, those abandoned, war-scarred soldiers, and even a couple of children. They find solace in an old farmhouse at the edge of the city near the ocean and spend their days patrolling and scavenging the desolate area and living as best they can on their own.

Until the day when the war comes to them.
