Rilee, a witty and ambitious 21-year-old, finds herself stuck in a seemingly endless loop as an editorial assistant at Pen & Paper Publishing. Watching her colleagues get promoted while she remains trapped in her role, Rilee decides it's time to take matters into her own hands and quit. But just as she's about to write her resignation, a bold idea strikes her to write an angry farewell email to her boss instead. She schedules it to be sent promptly at 9 a.m.

In a twist of fate, that can only be because Rilee has the worst Fu¢king luck at 9:01 am; while she dreads the consequences of her bold act, an email pops up in her inbox. It's a promotion announcement-Rilee herself has been promoted! The irony is not lost on her, and panic sets in as she realizes her boss is about to read her scathing email.

What follows is a funny and realistic day of epic proportions as Rilee races against the clock to delete the ill-fated email before her boss can open it. Along the way, she encounters unpredictable obstacles-a malfunctioning computer, a crush that won't take a hint, and a series of hilarious misunderstandings.
