A 12 year old girl goes to sell charcoal for her family because her older brother has an injured leg. As she's coming home a man named Saburo sees her and invites her to stay the night so a demon won't eat her, but once she finally makes it home she finds her family dead. She finds hope in saving Tanjiro, as he is the only one still warm.
