Alice's Vampire

In the heart of the walled city of Bethlem, where the sun never shines, Alice works the catacombs. Tasked with transporting the dead to their new home underground to make room in the overcrowded city, this is the perfect job for the daughter of an overthrown and hated dictator.

When the man unexpectedly dies from a stroke before his trial, Alice takes it upon herself to bury him before his body is paraded around and disfigured by the lives he ruined.

But as she readies him, a bat-like creature emerges from her father's corpse before morphing into a man. Their eyes lock, and an invisible cord of adoration and obsession binds them forever.

Forced to grapple with this otherworldly connection, Alice must navigate the city's deadly underbelly, filled with deceit, bloodthirsty monsters, and corrupt officials, to uncover the truth about her father's death and the origins of this unholy connection.
