This fic is heavily inspired by the comic 'Found Family' by sha.biest on Instagram. I asked permission to use their story and they said that I could. In the first chapter, there will be a link to their account and their comic/art. All art and story plots go to sha.biest and the characters belong to their rightful owners. While the story will contain bits of the comics, it will ultimately have quite a few differences.

The Other Side of Our Lives
This book is my own story of the original TMF characters and some that I made up. This does include Jean and some other ships. It's pretty angsty and the chapters are pretty long. This book takes place after episode 9 with exceptions of flashbacks of the characters' past. Before you can even process this bizarre reunion, you and your dad are victims of an attempted kidnapping, you being rescued by 4 mutant turtle brothers, who offer to help you find your father. As you get to know them better, you find yourself drawn into their world while trying to understand what's going on with your memories. Little do you know, there's more to your connection with these heroes than meets the eye. Eventual MC x Donatello relationship. A remake of Donatello and April's original relationship dynamic, but slow burned and unrushed, so they can build a true friendship before discovering that either of them have feelings for the other. --------------- I always felt like Donnie crushin' on April in the show was a bit off, especially 'cause she never felt the same way and it felt kind of forced. Chatted with my sis 'bout this ongoing plot in the series, and it hit me - the show could've been way cooler if April and Donatello had a tighter connection, giving 'em both the character development they deserved. Figured I had nothin' to lose, so this's what came outta that chat. Hope you dig it! First time putting words on paper, fingers crossed it ain't too shabby.
