"Don't go. Please."
On the surface, it was a cute and heartwarming Netflix show. Sure, some backlash came out from easily triggered TikTokers, but surely a docu-series made by a father based on his daughter and her close friends couldn't be exploitative or fake, could it?
Set to be a critic's darling, Five White Beds was the heartwarming docu-series about five teenage girls who all met in the hospital. From the moment it was announced, the internet seemed to approve.
Then the first episode came out. And then nine more.
The applause slowly turned to hate. Then the hate turned into a legal battle. A legal battle fought by the girls whose lives were forever altered by the presence of cameras.
Five girls. Countless people watching. What could go wrong?
