THE AUTHOR IS ONE AND THE SAME!!!
They promised me a title I don't want, in a world I want to escape from.
The Continent of the Gods, they call it. They came and left hundreds of years ago and we still worship them. But we don't mean it.
If we did, then following the only rule imposed on us should be easy: Fairies and Humans should coexist. It was violated 200 years ago, but we like to keep pretence.
How was it supposed to be followed? Fairy monarchs marry humans.
Here comes my part. As a human in this Godforsaken mainland, I was asked to marry the king of Achelous. Why me? That's what I've asked too. It seems that by marrying me, my family will be benefited, and a promise made by my mother to the queen before I was even born, tied my life to the castle. But there's something more they don't want to divulge.
Of course,I have my own reasons to accept the proposal. Going to the castle will help me in gathering most wanted information.
But while doing that, I'll have to play a role: the gullible future fiancé of the king. Why future? Because I have conditions; we're going to know each other first. Courting, I think they call it. I just hope that while learning about my "future husband", I'll be able to keep my heart intact.
And my mind. Because in a castle full of intricate webs of secrets and lies, dangers lurk from hidden corners. Sometimes, it gets hard telling a friend from foe. The shadows within me may not be strong enough to keep the monsters at bay. I'll have to buy my time.
And when I get what I want, I'm going to run. Just like that!
