Two lives begin to change when Beck and Zulu, two male wolves, spot a human. Zulu would swear that there was a wolf, but Beck would hear none of it. The two wolves continue to train the pups, the only change in pack behavior being extra patrols. The change for Zulu? He can't get the human out of his sleeping mind. So with a growl, he watches the human's trip end.
Lacy was awed that the wolves had come to her, even if they did literally run away. Her camping trip comes to an end, and she returns back to the outskirts of the city. When winter hits, paw prints start showing in her yard, and neighborhood animals start going missing.
