It's been almost 15 years since the traumatic events of the Other-World War. Kazuto and Asuna are happily married, with their Son. But one day, their peaceful lives are ripped from them, and soon are thrust into a conflict against an Artificial Intelligence gone rogue.

But many truths will be discovered along the way, ones that make the situation into an even more dire one that calls for Humanity as well as the Underworlders to reunite. Before they know it, Kirito and his friends find themselves in the crossfire of a  war that merged the real world with the virtual, one that will surely go down in history.
