When eleven-year-old Meira Eldrith arrives at Hogwarts, she is hoping for a fresh start. Still grieving the loss of her mother and struggling to understand her complicated relationship with her father, she finds an unexpected home among new friends-especially Rowan, a Slytherin boy who quickly becomes her closest companion.

But Hogwarts is not as safe as Meira imagined.

After discovering a hidden room containing mysterious cursed objects, Meira and Rowan begin to suspect that something sinister is happening within the castle.
