Everything seems to be going well for the clans. Green-leaf has just begun, there is much prey in the forest, and the clans are at peace.
Then a new kit is born in the nursery, who at first seems like a normal kit, no different than any other. All that changes after a prophecy is given to the medicine cats, that may change Amberkit's fate and the Clans fate.

As they get older, the time grows nearer for them to choose successors who will receive their immortality which has been passed on to them by their own mentors. But this group is hiding something, and it is only a matter of time before it is revealed to the chosen successors. Petalwish is unsure if she really should be loyal to CliffClan. She loves her clanmates dearly, but the clan deputy seems to watch their every move, just waiting for any cat to slip up. But it's the clan she was raised in. So, she should be loyal to them, right? Keenkit always figured he and his littermates were normal kits who would all become apprentices and be able to train together. But when a strange cat takes his sister out of StreamClan on the day of their apprentice ceremony, he quickly realizes such hope has become impossible. Sunpaw just wants to prove to his clan, BreezeClan that he can become a great warrior. But it isn't as easy as it sounds. Even though his rival apprentice Slowpaw is much younger than him, he is always beaten in battle training and he can never catch nearly as much prey. His mentor doesn't make it any better either. Pounceheart is always treating him like some helpless kit and he worries he'll never be able to complete his warrior assessment.
