Ariel Axilas is a young African American woman who is wise beyond her years. So wise, in fact, that she has earned herself a full ride scholarship to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an opportunity to continue chasing her love for engineering. Deep down, though, she hides a secret; five years prior, she was the victim of a freak lab accident which granted her superhuman speed.....speed that she refuses to use in the present day for personal reasons that only she knows. Instead, she has decided to conceal her abilities and continue her studies at MIT in Cambridge, Massachusetts, with her superpowers remaining unknown to everyone, friends and family alike.  

However, with the advent of superheroes around the world-as well as the ever-increasing guilt whenever someone is hurt through her failed intervention-only time will tell if she ever learns to come out of her shell. One of Ariel's close friends suggests that they go on an adventure to find Ariel's birth mother, who allegedly disappeared from her childhood under debated circumstances, and she initially agrees.....but when a familiar face from her recent past turns up again and tries to talk her into using her powers to serve their team, Ariel must make a decision: should she forever remain in obscurity and maintain her life of normalcy, or will she finally come out of the shadows and use the gifts she's been given?All Rights Reserved

It's the first time in my life I wanted someone's attention so badly I didn't care how I got it. And that was too dangerous for me to hold onto. "Are you insane or some shit? I could have killed you!" He says and starts to walk towards me. I take a big breath and step back away from him, "s-stop! Axel," I stutter still panting. It's then he notices the blood on my hands and shirt. "Is that blood?" He asks staring at my shirt and I take another step back. "Stop, stay b-back," I try to say confidently but I can't even breath right. Realizing he won't listen I start to turn around planning to make a break for it. "Don't run from me Blaze it won't go well," he growls reading my thoughts causing me to freeze in my spot. "Do not ever think you can get away from me."
