Growing Older [A Patriot (2000) Fanfiction]

Madeleine Billings has grown up in the Martin household since the loss of her family during the war. On her eighteenth birthday, it is decided that the time has come for her to take up a position in another household. Under Ben's guidance, she is offered a placement in the home of his old friend, Jean Villeneuve.

They don't exactly see eye to eye but Maddie is determined to make the best of her posting, despite the stern and almost cold disposition of her employer. As for Jean, Maddie's fiery personality and lack of humility are concerning. How could this arrangement possibly work?
