"I'm in love with a woman I can never have. The point is I'm in love with her and it's driving me crazy. I'm not in control. I have to stay together to protect her and she wants me to be the better man, which means I can't be who I am."

Layla Mackenzie just lost her parents to a fatal car accident, and her heart is at its worst state. Not having any immediate family, she packs her life up and moves to Mystic Falls with her new legal guardian and only uncle, Alaric Saltzman. Having an uncle who works at the local high school does have its perks, and when Layla is introduced to the mysterious and beautiful Salvatore brothers her world is turned upside down. Stefan Salvatore welcomes her with open arms, but his older brother Damon had a different approach to her. Even though Layla knows Stefan may be the better guy for her, she can't help her self from wanting Damon.

The question is though will Layla play it safe, or go for the forbidden love she truly desires.
