"Ashley, please. Don't go."

I reached up a hand to touch his face. My fingers caught the tears rolling down his cheeks. It hurt me, so much to see him this way. It broke me to see his precious tears being wasted on me. I tried to be brave and smiled for him. Even if my whole world is breaking inside, even if I have to live the rest of my life without him in my arms, I would do anything to keep him safe and see his smile.

"Jay, please look at me. Can you do one last thing for me?"

"Yes, anything Ash. Anything."

"Can you please smile for me? Just one last time."
