When Alex's best friend and former partner dies unexpectedly, he's left with plenty inherit. There's a house, a pile of old gadgets, and plenty of books. Oh, and a niece he's never met, who he has to take as an apprentice and serve as her guide to the world of the Weird. Note: This is a first manuscript, and the first completed draft at that. It hasn't been fully edited, and there are a few structural tweaks I'm still mulling over. Consider this a beta more than a full release candidate.
