When Lyra's great uncle, whom she never met, gives her his house in Hyder, Alaska, she goes through many stages of getting used to a new place, even the weather there. She also finds out someone is living there, his name is Tristan Beltran, an ex-con who was sent away and accepted his fate and got out and is trying to change himself, but there's a bit of a problem. They both hate each other. Tristan because he doesn't want Lyra around, he's the only one that considers McIntosh House to be home and thinks Lyra is going to ruin it. Lyra thinks Tristan is just a jerk who can't seem to get off his high horse and realizes she never did anything wrong and every right since she did inherited the house. Will these two fall in love or is it going to end in a disaster?
