Allow me to introduce you to the multiverse theory, if you are unfamiliar with it. According to this theory, whenever the universe, or whatever the driving force behind it is, has a 'decision', it 'chooses' both. A universe is created in which you wear a red shirt today, as well as one where you wear a blue shirt, as well as one where you wear no shirt and get fired. This means that there are universes where what, here, are stories, movies, and comic books, are fact. The universes form an infinite tree, with infinite choices, all leading back to the first, paradoxical choice, whether the universe exists or not. But that's a story for another time. This story takes place in a universe almost exactly like ours, but angled a little towards the comics branch. A universe where Barry Allen locked up a little early, where the Kryptonian ship was slightly off with its calculations, where Hal Jordan never got to meet Abin Sur, and where Themyscira remained undiscovered. A world devoid of superheroes. Some things remain constant, however. This story begins with one man's madness.

Because none of that matters anymore. The WhatIfUniverse is in danger, and maybe the heroes aren't enough to save it. They're gonna require assistance from another universe. Wanting to be a superhero and becoming one, are two completely different things. But becoming the opposite? That's way easier. And sometimes it's not on purpose. Fate didn't want me to be a hero. I was a fairly normal girl, growing up in Central City. A city where superheroes and super villains didn't exist... until the particle accelerator exploded. Many people were turned into these metahumans, me being one of them. Likely one of the only changed nine year olds at the time. My parents were both scientists for Star Labs, being two of the many others that died in the blast. Needing to get away, I decided to move to Gotham. A good city to hide in. Maybe it wasn't the best city to move to, but, in the end, I'm glad I did. In the crazy town, I was adopted by the two craziest people there. The Deranged Duo, Harley Quinn and Joker. "Rescued by villains, who knew?" I say. "Villains rescue fellow villains," Joker says. "Sounds funny coming from you," I scoff. "Aww, is that the way you should treat your saviors?" Joker teases. "I could've taken them," I scoff. "Why did you save me?" "We watched you take out the last group of thugs," Harley says. "We've been looking for a protégé, sorta like how Batsy has that sidekick, Robin, was it?" Joker grins. "We like you. You're funny." ... **All the Characters belong to DC and Rick Riordan except for original characters** What's the most common thing in Gotham? Villains and Vigilantes. What is the second most common thing? Murder. People dropped like flies. Bodies washed up on the shores of Gotham Pier. They were found in alleys, garbage cans, high in trees, splattered on the street. Everywhere. The Gotham City Police Department couldn't keep up, not with all the bank robberies and corruption they had to deal with. And who was better to ask for help than the Greatest Detectives in the world? Oh, and Nico is there too. **This is kinda a one-shot series, but there might be an overarching story across a few chapters.**
Worth It (Batman, Avengers, X-Men crossover)
"Too bad. You'll just have to suffer. . .just like your friend," Bane whispered, pulling out a knife. I couldn't help but wonder what friend he was talking about, I'd never even met anyone that lived in Gotham, let alone be friends with them. He started to carve deep cuts into my face, but I didn't cry out in pain. I refused to give him the satisfaction that would come with it. Then, just before I passed out and was taken away, I spoke once more. "I may suffer. . .I may die. . .But you will not win. . .Men like you never win. . .It's been proven in the past and this is just another event that will once again prove that evil never really wins. . .Because while Gotham still has people that believe in it, it'll never be truly destroyed," I told him in a hoarse whisper, fighting the pain that was threatening to devour me completely. He then picked me up and I was slammed to the ground. I thought I was left to die then and there. Jordan Gray is a young SHIELD agent with some unique talents. While she doesn't get a break too often, she thought that the trouble in Gotham was just another annoying thing to deal with instead of getting to take her vacation. Get in, solve the issue and get out. Nothing more, she thought. But she was wrong. When the fight she takes is one for her life, for a purpose, will she be able to take that risk? Takes place during The Dark Knight Rises and after The Avengers. I do not own Batman, SHIELD or the Avengers, only Jordan Gray and the ideas. Life as a Robin ain't easy. People constantly try to kidnap you or use you as leverage or get a king's ransom for you or just get in your head. Not a good time. It was entirely a book of kidnapping, but now it's just general one-shots of the lives of Bruce Wayne's adoptees (and biological children) being the hard knock life. 1. At first, it was a regular night for Bruce as he went out through the night as the dark vigilante, Batman. As time ticked by, the night grew - stranger - beneath the bat signal's light, was a note. From the Joker. Months pass before Batman is seen out on the streets again. But he's different, strange. But most importantly, what is up with his eyes? ----- In this world, Batman doesn't have a Robin. He never has. He sticks to himself; even the Justice League don't see him. No one sees Batman without a mask except Alfred. Batman is darker, already slightly twisted in the head - he's spent his whole life, fighting people like the Joker, people who don't deserve his pity.
