After the events of sonic adventure 2 is wasn't shadow who fell it was sonic
Shadow did try to catch him but sonic let him go knowing the fate both of them would have if shadow tried to save him
When shadow got back to the ark everyone was devastated about the loss of sonic not accepting that this would be the fate sonic would meet
Tails was heavy hurt from this and tried to come up with ways that he could bring sonic back And with a bit of help from shadow hes thought of a way
