Book #2 in The Ghosts of Christmas Series

Sinister magic clings like frost to the stone walls of St. Gertrude's preparatory school for girls. Mir, a gentle soul, finds herself subject to the cruelty of suspicious nuns and the tyranny of Rufina, the popular girl, for being different. Rufina is determined to conquer Ghost Country, The Supplanter and her blossoming feelings for Mir. Yet she can't help but worry that her best efforts will not be enough to save them both from the encroaching frost.

The path shall grow icier. The climb more steep, Jasper warns. If Rufina fails, she and all her girls will freeze permanently within Ghost Country. 

But Rufina isn't worried about the path nearly as much as the girl she tries not to love. 

Will Rufina and the girls at Gertrude's find a way to defeat the many servants of The Supplanter? Can they make it back home before they freeze forever? Can they save Jasper? Will Rufina find a way to be honest about her heart?

It's a Christmas fairytale plagued by wild ghosts, clumsy yet noble knights, awful beer, and a desperate, vicious romance trying to find a future.

She doesn't like being told what to do or how to do it. She yearns to have the blood of her enemies on her hands and dripping down her samurai sword. One day she goes out to the supermarket to gather food, playing "normal" she tries her best to fit in, but it doesn't go so well. Irma somehow manages to help this young woman. She even decides to take her in. Irma is in it for a friend, but she doesn't know that her roommate is an assassin yearning to do many dirty things to her, things that Irma have never done, things that are normal for the assassin.
