"Stacy, I need you to run, do you understand?" "But ... But ... I ..." A shrill cry erupted from the opaque white room. Then another scream. Suddenly there were red lights buzzing the square boxed room. They kept little Stacy's ear busy as she got up and looked at her mother. Battered, bruised, and on the verge of collapsing. Scratch that. She was collapsing. She was extending her hand, urging her to move. Yet she stood still like she was frozen in time, eyes wide and pleading, she couldn't leave. She was enchanted by this place and the red lights were so loud, just how she liked them. She wanted to sleep. Christ, she wanted to die. But the night was beautiful and red and white and everything daddy had promised. When had it turned white? Where was her mother? 'It's just a dream', someone whispered from inside her. 'Go back to sleep.' And she did. Took in the red and white and made a pink dream. The screams quietly faded away, in long tubes filled with her tears.

I ran as fast as my feet carried me; through the bulky pine trees and the deserted forest area. My legs burned as I ran away from my old house. My arms held my stomach tight, fearing that I would throw up. I ran until I could no longer breathe. I grasped the murder weapon as Drake's blood ran down my arms. Panting heavily, I stopped at a large boulder leaning against it. My breathing could be heard a mile away and that scared me. No one could find me, or I'd be as dead as he is. _________________________________________ Jenna Weston was on the run. She has a past. A past she is desperately trying to get away from. Garrett Chase was the prime suspect in the murder she committed. And as much as she wanted to keep running, she couldn't stand the thought of Garrett going down for the crime. Especially when he is family, and the reason she killed in the first place. **EDITING** COPYRIGHTED © 2014 _empathy All Rights Reserved.
