Annabelle Martin,16, is supposed to go into hiding when an assassination rumor. She finds that three people are supposed to stay with her at all times. One young man, Tom Durand, whose also 16, and two older men, Monsieur Dubois and Monsieur Simon. While they struggled to find who was attempting an assassination, Tom was told to be with Annabelle at all times. When they grow close to each other, Tom gets called upon and is told to stay away from her. As he battles through being far from Annabelle, he investigates the assassination he finds the said assassinator. But who might that be?
