Hailey lived all her life under the shadow of her sister, who was beautiful and wanted to become a model. Instead of trying to become like Emily, Hailey found her own escape, which was books. She would read and wait for her Prince Charming to come and sweep her off her feet. But when she agreed to get married to Chase Edwards on the request of her mother to save Emily from an arranged marriage, she didn't know that Chase was no Prince Charming. Finn has an honourable position; personal servant to the monarch of Cafi, a small country off the coast of France. He also has not-so-honourable a position; a man in love with another man, in the early 1800s. Oliver is being forced towards marriage, and Finn is being forced towards accepting his love is unrequited. As France begins to fall into another revolution, the world begins unravelling around them. Oliver has to fight to maintain the democracy he established, and Finn must cope with the reawakening of his less-than-ideal past as a con artist in the search for his long-lost brother. The two must learn who to trust and who not to trust as they begin to know each other more deeply than they every thought they could. Content Warnings Applicable to This Story: This book is set in the early 1800s, and I don't want to avoid talking about the horrendous things that happened to people of colour then. It will talk about slavery, but from a firm anti-slavery perspective, never glorifying or making excuses for it. Cafi itself is a fictional country and while I absolutely believe they would have had slave trade too (because most places did and I don't want to pretend they didn't), I want the book to include Oliver's fight to abolish slavery in his country. Otherwise, there may be previous mentions of abuse, but it will be extremely mild, nothing graphic, and the chapter itself will pre-warn you. Oliver's relationship with his family can be problematic at times. Please take care of yourself during any chapters that may be triggering for you.

What The King Wanted (King George III)

13 parts Complete

NO LONGER BEING WRITTEN "It was just one dinner. But I suppose that's all it takes to fall in love." (Not 100% historically accurate I know Jonathan is gay as shIT BUT I COULDN'T RESIST) 1776-1783. Wars were being fought, spies were being placed, people were dying, a king and a new country was being created. In the midst of the 8 years of war, came two stories: Alexander Hamilton and What The King Wanted. We all now the first one, so here's the second. The king wanted many things. Power, money, people. But a new need slipped into his mind once he heard the name "Evanna Evans." He wanted love. One problem though. She was a rebel, and wanted nothing more but to separate from King George. (Warnings: Angst, Plot Twists, Sarcasm, Sass, and Dominant George;) ) "What the king wanted... was her." "-and the colonies." "That too."
