Shri. Nara Chandrababu Naidu, the former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, is a prominent leader in Indian politics and a key figure in the Telugu Desam Party (TDP party). During his tenure, he initiated several significant commissions and measures, one of which was the Punnaiah Commission 2003. This commission played a crucial role in addressing social issues, particularly the abolition of untouchability and the prevention of rapes against Scheduled Castes (SCs) in the state. The Punnaiah Commission-2003, chaired by K. Punnaiah, a retired judge of the High Court, was formed under N Chandrababu Naidu's leadership to investigate and provide recommendations to tackle the persistent social evils that affected the marginalized SC communities.
