Venus isn't exactly a perfect paradise, Max knows, but it's much better than staying on Mars and listening to their parents argue all summer. Upon arrival in Marigold City, Max discovers that their extended family has taken in two kids their age off the streets - Kiffa, a tech-genius Zomai looking to use gadgets to fit in at school, and Azadri, a very self conscious Evior who believes she's too alien for her mostly-human peers.
