The world is dying. Heaven and Hell have broken and collapsed, creating a post-apocalyptic landscape that is part purgatory, part platonic world of ideas, blighted by the horrors of the human mind. The sun lies dormant in the east, atop God's tower, while the west is plunged into darkness and haunted by all that lives there. There is no day and night cycle, nothing grows, nothing dies, nothing changes, unless magic is involved. Angels hunt creatures for their blood, to feed it to God so he can finish gestating. Demons kill and destroy aimlessly, their origins inexplicable and unknown. Stranger beings wander the ruins of what's left of the world. Humans need not eat or sleep, caught in a state between life and death. They cannot die or be born naturally, but they can be killed and they can be made. The few that survived with their sanity somewhat intact have locked themselves into warded cities, but their protections are feeble and often ineffective. The Order that united them is long gone, broken into factions known only by the sins for which they have fallen. The Houses that protected them are crumbling, falling into ruin as their members were culled down by angels and demons, as well as their own mad quest to save the world; the Pilgrimage, a vain attempt to steal into Eden and murder God himself. Soon, only the Scions will remain. Those that were left not due to merit, but because they were the last choice for being heroes. Those whose memories and minds are as damaged and eaten through as their world. Those who agreed to take on the mysterious Archons within their bodies and, through that contract, had ancient relics and rituals passed down to them. They converge onto a long forgotten neutral ground, trying to save themselves. A heroic journey through a nightmarish wonderland. A pilgrimage to God's tower, to make the world whole again. To cleanse the world of the horrors infecting it. To kill the God who will doom them all with his birth.
Eden's Eclipse by crash_course70

Rael Thorne was never meant to ascend. A rogue knight with a past as fractured as the illusions he wields, he has always been an outsider among the celestial warriors of Eden. But when the abyss comes for him, it does not take his life. Instead, it takes his heart. And yet... he still breathes. The divine halls of Valkyria Academy have fallen, overrun by an unfathomable darkness that Eden's warriors could not stop. Forced into exile, the surviving Archangels and Valkyrie knights retreat to Avalon, where druids weave life into the land itself. But even in the sanctuary of the wilds, Rael is an impossibility-a man who should be dead, carrying something unseen in the empty space where his heart once was. Something only the darkness can recognize. As whispers in a forgotten tongue begin to speak clearly in his mind, Rael realizes he is no longer the man he once was. The very warriors who once stood at his side now watch him with suspicion, none more than Aetheriel, the Frostbound Archangel, who believes Rael should have been executed the moment he survived. But even Aetheriel cannot deny the truth-Rael's survival was no accident. Something ancient has chosen him. Something terrible has already begun. And as Heralds of the abyss awaken, whispering of a prophecy long buried in time, Rael must answer the question that haunts them all: Was he spared to save Eden? Or to end it? A dark epic fantasy of celestial warfare, eldritch horror, and the thin line between fate and damnation. Fans of morally complex heroes, divine magic, and the creeping dread of the unknown will find themselves drawn into a world where light and darkness have never been more uncertain.

For thousands of years The Order has been protecting creation from Evil, the paranormal, and sometimes themselves without the world knowing. Each member of the ancient society has been sworn to put humanity above all else, even if not by choice. The Fallen are some that don't have that choice. Many are serving penance after being cast out during the battle in Heaven or for other transgressions. Callen and Fin are two of The Fallen, who are serving their time, counting down the days until they are able to go home. Each save brings them closer to their rightful power and closer to getting out. But a higher power has other plans for the disgraced Angels. Plans that keep them Earth-bound for longer than any of them anticipated. Plans that include Harper McCarthy, who has no idea what truly exists in the world. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- All Harper McCarthy wants out of life is to raise her six year old son, Cameron the best she can. But when Callan and Fin blow into town, they throw her into the chaotic world of angels, demons, ghosts and creatures that only belong in nightmares. A world that in her mind, shouldn't exist. A world she should have always been a part of. With lies and betrayals coming to light, Harper comes to find that she is one of three keys in a prophecy that should have taken place almost a decade ago, one that was thrown off course by someone she trusted the most. While Harper tries to come to terms who...or what she is, Callen must decide whether to embrace his new role or hold onto his resentment for humanity, who he was sworn to protect.
