Blood. Kaydrisis Arendeil is no stranger to it. The feeling of spatter decorating her face, pooling around her feet, and rubbing between her fingertips. The smell corroding her senses, the density overwhelming her mind, bringing her back to a time long past.
Everything has been stolen from her; freedom, life, family, love, home..... And she wants it back.
With a fiery hot temper and bullheaded nature, Kay is willing to do whatever it takes to get her old life back and claim her throne.
With destiny thwarting her at every turn, she is put through much turmoil before she is within walking distance of her goals.
Will she be destined to walk the path of a hero, or does fate have a darker sense of humor?
Only time will tell.

Astarion ascended just like he wanted. Tav helped just like he asked. People change just like they were warned. Fair warning: Ascended Astarion is the villain, Tav frequently disassociates and justifies Astarion's behavior to themselves and the other companions. Domestic violence is implied but not depicted out-right. Verbal abuse is kept to a minimum. Two major characters will die eventually. An alternative epilogue at Withers' party. As the Ash Settles
As the Ash Settles, is my take on what happens to the group of companions after saving Baldur's Gate. As the ash settles and the drinks are pouring a familiar sensation washes over our Tav, the very same one that compelled her to attack poor Alfira in her slumber, perhaps defeating her sister was not just denying her father but in fact taking back her rightful spot as leader of the Bhaalspawn, perhaps Withers was indeed wrong. Questions left unanswered while still having to find a special artifact for Astarion to walk and in the sun and still beating heart to fear Karlach. Rated M for Mature.
