Shadow or Light?

(A mostly made-up story except for the ideals of D&D and the character Astarion, I take no credit for those things.)

Blood. Kaydrisis Arendeil is no stranger to it. The feeling of spatter decorating her face, pooling around her feet, and rubbing between her fingertips. The smell corroding her senses, the density overwhelming her mind, bringing her back to a time long past.

Everything has been stolen from her; freedom, life, family, love, home..... And she wants it back.

With a fiery hot temper and bullheaded nature, Kay is willing to do whatever it takes to get her old life back and claim her throne.

With destiny thwarting her at every turn, she is put through much turmoil before she is within walking distance of her goals.

Will she be destined to walk the path of a hero, or does fate have a darker sense of humor?
