"Isn't that what is supposed to happen?" Jenny whispered to me, her tiny arms wrapped around my neck. How is someone supposed to tell a six year old that happy endings are only for fairy tales? "Mandy, don't the prince and princess live happy ever after?" She wanted a real story, she was sick of Cinderella and Snow White. She wanted me to tell her a new one, a true one, that didn't have magic.
"It's bed time, Jen. I'll finish the story for you another night."

I'm weak and broken, tormented by monsters that keep reaching for me, touching my body, hurting me, living marks on my skin and soul. I don't know how it feels to sleep without waking up in the middle of the night sweating, incapable of defending myself, too afraid to scream for help. Until I meet him. In this world, there are some people who get their happily ever afters and others who don't. Those who get their magical fairytale romance, cherish it for as long as it lasts while the others never get to enjoy the wonders of a fairytale. Instead, they are forced to stay inside their hopeless reality and grow old thinking about what they did to deserve never getting their once upon a time. I think those are the ones who wanted it bad enough. They craved a fairytale more than life itself. Devoted their lives to Disney movies and romance books just to be let down by the real world. It wasn't a love story, at least not for me. With events that began and ended with me and Alejandro. We rushed into things that was too intense for a couple of kids. We didn't know what being in a relationship really meant. In a perfect fairytale, the princess would get the prince but my life isn't a fairytale. I'll be taking you through a year in my llife. That if I was being honest, that couldn't be forgotten. I wouldn't forget the good and the bad moments and there were bad ones. It thought me something useful... This is a story of two naive teenagers that find out that it's not as easy being together then it is like in the movies. They find this out with realistic life lessons.
