Welcome to the known world of The Nine Oceans! Watch out for pirates, prophecies, bandits and politics. Please, don't concern yourself with what lives under the D'Vialle manor. And always, always remember to keep your actions out of the workings or you'll find yourself on the wrong side of The Ladies. Better to keep safe and above the wet instead of swimming seven draughts down, don't you think?
This massive story is told from multiple viewpoints and is one part swashbuckling, one part steampunk, and one part all smashed together of romance, adventure, sci-fi / fantasy, and revenge. Updates will be inconsistent because I'm still writing the final half (possibly the final two thirds) as well as polishing and settling finished chapters into the right places in the timeline.
Content warning: I'll put CW's at the start of each chapter, as needed, and in general you can expect foul language, violence, sex, trauma and fear.

Ayda is a girl living in a world where, the second you're born, you are born with a prophecy that explains the main course your life will take. And biggest of all, there is a prophecy of a hero who will come from another world to save their's. He hasn't come yet, but everyone is waiting. Ayda is 17, and living on the streets with a 13 year old boy named Rio. Scared of dying from starvation, she asks a lone sailor if she and Rio can travel on his boat with him, and travel around the nearby Islands, which are filled with creatures of all kinds, like sea creatures and giants. Very quickly the trio get a job trying to collect seven treasures, and Ayda is more than happy to do it since it will help repay the sailor who (begrudgingly) let them live on his boat. But while this trio doesn't get along at first, as they travel the world, they start to like and depend on each other. Which is exactly what they'll need to do when their world that originally only suggested you listen to your prophecy suddenly starts turning against those that don't. Everything operates under the silent, vague, but present scrutiny of the gods, with thaumaturgic talents dominating many human cultures in some capacity. Churches reign over the post-Altarum territories a century after the Silence. The World, at least as far as many within the Habitable Zone are concerned, is a cold, thoughtless plane of existence. It is within a single vessel, known as the CSS Groundskeeper, do things begin to influence the "Things To Be," as labeled by followers of the pantheon. Within this ship, two individuals will face the beginning of what is to be unimaginable horrors within an unforgiving universe, both with the same goal: do not succumb to the darkness. Hey I'm Ocean, a dreamy girl, who has completed her college studies of fashion designing from a few years back and then stepped into the writing world. Though writing was already a big part of me since my school days, but now it has become a professional practice too. Other than writing and designing, I pretty much like photography and travelling. And the things which I love to do in my free time is dancing, listening to music - hindi classicals, qawwali, ghazal, indie-pop or fusions are my favourite, other than that watching movies/series - Classics, Rom-Com, Action, Thrill, Sci-Fi - ALL! and studying film-making.
