Mistaken revelry By james a. galgano For the mistakes daily made For every heart and hope too often betrayed I kneel un-forgiven in un-washed tears. Which pass like moments for every year now alone? Far from any memory ever known. Beyond the reach of crying clouds, we seek. Beneath the rains we bathe to baptize our grief. For every promise broken that remains. For every explanation which never truly explains The reasoning behind grievous sins committed. Those we might lay claim to or never admitted. The sum of one's foolish life spread into horizon dismayed. Where one can reconnoiter whom all we have betrayed In search of love or lust often sought rarely found subdued Yet gave false hopes by which one sought to be renewed. Like a baptism of fire by which no cleansing was offered true Only given with the endless false promises we should knew.
