As the morning light knocked on the windowsill, the lone flower, kept in a glass bottle, opened its colorful blue petals one by one as if dancing playfully. Its fragrance filled the air, subtly sweet and soothing. It was a flower both radiant and delicate, graceful in its movements.
The tip of a fair finger caressed the flower petals, gently and softly.
"Are you awake?"
A soft whisper. Like the summer wind, carrying with it a sense of wonder. Filling the air with a gentle ambiance.
"You are on time as usual"
A chuckle this time.
Jeweled eyes, filled with serenity, appreciated the beauty of the morning glory. Ipomoea purpurea.
"Aren't you lonely too?" she asked. But, the enchanting flower did not answer. It just tilted its head along the currents of the smooth wind.
. . . She knew she was hoping too much. Asking a lone plant about its loneliness.
She slowly ran her hands through her tangled hair. Gradually bringing it to her face. Caressing it. The fair and smooth skin, just like the petals of the blue flower. It was simply a pity. A pity about what? She, herself, wasn't aware.
And, soon she was pulled out of her trance. A knock at the door. And some shuffling just outside it.
One last longing look at the flower and the enchanting fairy turned to continue her extremely bereft life.
It was lonely, yes. But, lovely too.

"OMG, I SAW HIM, HE WAS SO F-ING HOT!"
Sentiments were whispered within the maids, each were confused by the lack of decency and eloquence of the speech that was said by the young noble.
Popping one eye open, the young lady of the House of Hamblin only sighed at her friend's casual attitude. Shooing her maids and her friends' maids with her hand, the two noble ladies were left alone to enjoy each other's company.
"So you saw his majesty, Lady Alpheus?"
The said lady pouted cutely at her 'best' friend's formal attitude despite being friends since childhood, yet grinned and vigorously shook her head at the mention of the man who caught her heart.... Claude de Alger Obelia.
"I did, he was just like a Roman God... Kyaaaaa!"
"I see... Did you saw Athanasia, then?"
"Yep, she was really surprised! That's normal though"
Tension in the air was released, as the said Lady Alpheus smiled smugly, and cocked her head to the side... A trait she had developed over the years of living with her father.
"We don't exist in the original novel, after all"
