As the sophomore year begins, Sally Face and his friends begin to investigate further on the dark truths of Nockfell. Travis Phelps is struggling to survive his home due to his negligent and abusive father, Kenneth Phelps. Classes push the two unwillingly together despite Travis's previous bullying freshman year. As the secrets of the church and town unfold, Sal and Travis's budding friendship grows as the group realizes the true horrors of the town they call home.
