Fuck off, shut up and lie are three pillars that kept Helyli alive for all of her years as a street rat thief in Baldur's Gate. When she's faced with an ilithid tadpole installed in her good eye, she's forced to break all three rules, especially when it comes to him.
Of course, this is an Astarion x Tav fic, but specifically my Tav, Helyli. A cunning, snarky, sarcastic little Tiefling Cleric/Rogue with more secrets than she could count. This fic is going to have spoilers, but also be canon divergent, often giving some fun tweaks or additions to the Astarion Romance. (Let us hug him, let us be his mirror!!!)
I recommend finishing the game before reading, or, if you don't care for spoilers, go on ahead!

However, I do love all of the companions, so don't put it past me to throw them in as well. Instead of readerxcharacter, it will be Tavxcharacter, with the Tav sometimes changing classes or appearance due to origins. Because Tav can be everyone, there's usually he/him, she/her, and they/them versions of every story. Only acceptions are when Tav is only mentionted by name. There's also going to be a full story up somewhere this year (2025). I'm aiming to put up the first chapter somewhere in the last quarter of the year. (Disclaimer: I don't own the rights to the characters of the Baldur's Gate universe, Wizards of the Coast do. This is a fan written story.)

Astarion ascended just like he wanted. Tav helped just like he asked. People change just like they were warned. Fair warning: Ascended Astarion is the villain, Tav frequently disassociates and justifies Astarion's behavior to themselves and the other companions. Domestic violence is implied but not depicted out-right. Verbal abuse is kept to a minimum. Two major characters will die eventually. An alternative epilogue at Withers' party. As the Ash Settles, is my take on what happens to the group of companions after saving Baldur's Gate. As the ash settles and the drinks are pouring a familiar sensation washes over our Tav, the very same one that compelled her to attack poor Alfira in her slumber, perhaps defeating her sister was not just denying her father but in fact taking back her rightful spot as leader of the Bhaalspawn, perhaps Withers was indeed wrong. Questions left unanswered while still having to find a special artifact for Astarion to walk and in the sun and still beating heart to fear Karlach. Rated M for Mature.
