Twilight Sparkle and King Sombra Romance

What happens when Twilight and her friends are posed with a seemingly impossible task and the forces of friendship clash with shadows?

King Sombra can hardly remember a time when he wasn't alone. Even as a colt he lost everything he cared for and used by those who never cared. His heart became a fortress of ice, impenetrable and unyielding, exactly what he needed to survive in a world where friendship was but a fantasy.

Centuries later, Twilight and her friends rise to the challenge when defeating King Sombra at the battle of the Crystal Empire and effectively seal him away forever.

This is a fanfiction that takes place during and after the end of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic with Twilight as the reigning queen. This is a mature enemies-to-lovers romance between King Sombra and Twilight Sparkle. Please be 18+ when reading (although I don't know if there will be very detailed mature scenes because they are horses). There will be events referenced from the show and all characters belong to Hasbro and the creators of MLP:FIM. Artwork I use in this story is not mine and that credit belongs to the artists.
