Before Lottie leaves for the summer holidays Ella confesses her feelings but Lottie is too worried about Ella's mental health. Lottie deeply regrets this and misses Ella over the summer while Ella tries to get over Lottie by going out with her grandparents' neighbour Jaz. Ella and Jaz start going out on dates in Thailand while Lottie hangs out with her family in the UK. Jaz and Ella kiss but it causes Ella to realise that Jaz was never the one she wanted to kiss. Jaz is heart broken but Ella and Lottie reconnect and Lottie is rejoiced. Ella and Jaz become friends again and the summer is over.
