The Muted Call

Lionpaw decided to become a medicine cat apprentice after what happened with The Tribe Of Rushing Water, when he lost control, for the first time, with his powers. Horrified of the bloodlust he felt when he was fighting, he believes himself to be a monster (despite Jay telling him his gift is from StarClan), and not wanting to hurt anyone else or lose control of himself again, he decided it would be best if he became a medicine cat. So when he gets back to ThunderClan he goes to Leafpool (a.k.a his bio mother) and tells her he wants to be her apprentice. Leafpool would be reluctant of course because of the believe that Jay would be a better medicine cat than Lion, but eventually Lion convinces her to at least let him try. She ends up agreeing to a trial run until the next half moon medicine cat meeting, and during this time Lionpaw finds out he really likes healing other cats, even if he's struggling to remember his herbs. Leafpool is also convinced to take him on as her apprentice, seeing his passion for healing first paw. So at the next half moon meeting, Leafpool officially makes Lionpaw her apprentice. Something that Ashfur would of course not be happy about, despite hating Lionpaw for (supposedly) being Brambleclaw and Squirrelflight's son.
