Isabelle Ricci comes from a rich, and quite honestly, stuck up family that doesn't care much for her. When she finds out that they are part of the mafia, they ship her off across the country to a boarding school in New York city, where no one will know of her name or past.
Though it hurts, Isabelle recognizes this as her chance to start over from the shy, weak little girl she was before, and, for better or for worse (probably worse) becomes harder, colder, and a bad girl, of sorts, keeping her sarcastic humor and trouble-making grin.
Going to the school, she instantly clicks with a select few of girls and boys in her grade, but no one takes into account how her family's betrayal will effect the girl, turning her into more of a trouble-maker than she already was, damaging her, perhaps permanently as she finds herself on the edge of following her parents' decisions.
Balancing boys, family and friendship issues, and school, not to mention her new-found hobby for breaking the law, what can go wrong?
