"It's just a mace, darling." She let the pet name roll off her tongue in a very bad impression of him.

"Well you are," he huffed as he took the bottle of wine from her hand and finished it. His face contorted like he'd just sucked on a lemon, but his eyes were still swimming from the bear he had taken down earlier. "You remind me of her..." he trailed off.

"Her?" Irilith pushed. "I thought you told Shadowheart you didn't have a special lover." He shook his head.

"She wasn't a lover. She... She saved me, for a short time, from Cazador's torment."
