With Serana being taken by Harkon, the mission to find Auriel's bow is put on hold. Max, Jax, and Jay set off to find her. However not all is as it seems, betrayal is in the midsts after someone new joins the group. Max struggles to find out who it is, why they're doing it and how to deal with them. As everything seems to fall down around Max, it's made worse by the death of one of her companions, she struggles with the grief and begins to doubt if she can actually do this all on her own.

This is the second book to Under the Light of the Blood Red Sun.
