Hermione is excited to return to Hogwarts boarding school for year seven. For the first time in her life she feels confident in her friend group and isn't terrified of the looming new year.
That is until headmistress McGonagall announces that this year students from different houses will be rooming together in an effort to make connections at Hogwarts more diverse and inclusive.
Dealing with her new roommates is difficult enough but when a certain blond haired Slytherin starts to take interest her year is gearing up to be more challenging than she thought.

When Hermione finds her self coming back to Hogwarts for a Manditory 8th year, she is put in a place she shouldn't be. A place too close to Draco Malfoy a place were it should be impossible for her to stand and Draco is determined to find out why and how. We, The Ministry have decided that all people who were in attendance of they're seventh year at Hogwarts during the war is required to return back to Hogwarts for a mandatory 8th year. Harry didn't exactly expect to see Draco Malfoy return for his last year of education at Hogwarts, and he wouldn't mind it either, if he was allowed to keep a fair distance from the cocky sod. Unfortunately for him, McGonagall has gotten it to her head that the school's future lies in interhouse cooperation, and she has implemented some interesting - or completely mental, if Harry's concerned - changes at Hogwarts.
