Excerpt:
I grab Nathan as a couple of men with scowls appear out of nowhere, roughly grabbing my brother and I and pushing us inside our house. Dad stands in front of my mother, glaring harshly at the guy in the armchair by the fire with a glass of what appears to be whiskey.
In just a few moments, what was playful became fearful and uncertain. The man stares into the fire, looking away from us as he takes a sip of my dad's prized whiskey. The man holding onto me too tightly pushes me roughly towards the man, grinning manically as I stumble and almost fall into the man's lap. The man looks up, glaring at the man who just pushed me.
The glass shatters, miraculously missing me completely as the guy that I haven't been able to see, stands up roughly. "How dare you hurt her! I told you not to hurt anyone!" The man roars darkly, towering over my cowering form by at least a foot and a half. I whimper, tears stinging my eyes as I stumble away. The man looks down, his eyes softening slightly when he sees me.
"I'm sorry, love. I don't mean to scare you."

His eyes were completely dark black as he moved his wings to break the rest of the curse on him. His body is getting even bigger and more musclar than the statue was. She froze, unable to move from the fear she felt. It was almost the most frightening moment in her life. The demon was panting heavily as he turned to look at her. He seemed angry. Suddenly, he growled in deep scary voice: "You humans, you lowly beings!" I sat shaking in the cold, glass box I have spent most my life in.
