Her mother, Elena, moved to California in 1983, where she met Johnny Lawrence, the two quickly became best friends, before 1984, when Elena moved to Florida. 

Now, they are moving back to California, where Jaylyns mother suggested she should meet Johnny's son, Robby, where her plans don't really go the way she wants.

As, Robby's I'm juvie for attempted murder, but, when Jaylyn goes to the prison to meet Robby, something sparks.
