Jane Miller and Lucas Rivers were high school best friends, inseparable since childhood, until that ugly, fateful Prom Night. Both parted ways, one was broken and the other scarred for life.

12 years later

'Marry me'
Jane laughed at him. The serious expressions on Lucas's face frightened her.
'Are you fucking kidding me.'

'Do I look like I'm kidding. Sign these papers, you have to remain married to me only for two years. In return I won't shut down your shop.' He said as he threw the papers on his desk.

'It is a fashion house you buffoon. And this is your strategy now really; I didn't know you have these cheap tricks in you.' She took Lucas by her collar and seethed.

'You cannot whore around till you remain married with me. Then you are free to who-' Before he could complete his sentence, Jane slapped him.

Lucas pulled her, kissed her harshly. In his head he schemed all the ways in which he would punish and humiliate her for the next two years.

'I hate you Rivers.'
'I hate you too.' He said as her took her parted lips again.
She took the vase behind him and hit his head with all force. 'Fuck you, I would die before marrying you.'

I say quietly to him. "You won't what?" He says, wrinkling his brows in confusion. "Break her heart." I finish saying. I see him nod from the corner of my eyes, contemplating on what to say next. "Good." ---- No incest, nor cheating in this book!

I'm in love with him but he's in love with my younger sister and has made that painfully clear to me. "Who are you in love with?" I ask softly, my voice barely above a whisper. "I'm in love with Isabella, your sister. She's the only woman I truly care about," he admits, revealing his feelings for my younger sister after we had just gotten married, it hasn't even been twenty-four hours. "I'll fulfill my role as your husband, but don't expect any love or affection. This marriage is just an agreement between our families, nothing more. Do you understand?" His words are cold, piercing through me like arrows. I fight back the tears threatening to fall and manage to reply, "I understand." But my pain would not last long, not until I meet Mr. Russo, Marcello's father who was that head of the Mafia, a dangerous and powerful man who stole my heart.
