But, not before giving him a necklace, which Amber's mother had given her. She said she'd come back to Alford, their town. She promised him he'd see her again. He waited for her. He waited for 10 years. And, gradually, his hope of seeing Amber had faded, leaving behind small figments of his memory and an empty slot in his heart which was once occupied by a pair of bright blue eyes.
