The sky tore asunder and the Hells Gates opened, unleashing monstrous creatures that ravaged the world. Civilization collapsed, and the remnants of humanity fled to Prometheus, a giant spaceship that orbits the broken Earth.

Ekko's DNA stands as a testament to altering human genetics to combat their relentless enemies-bloodthirsty Reavers.

Caught between two worlds, Ekko is treated like a prisoner and monster, locked in a cell where her only joy comes from the small window that gives view of earth.

Within the council that governs the ship, tensions rise as factions clash over the fate of their dwindling home. Some argue for reclaiming Earth, hoping to rebuild what was lost, while others insist on appreciating their sanctuary.

The leaders of Prometheus assemble an Elite team entrusted with going to Orion to train for 24 months for a perilous mission: to return to Earth and assess its potential for habitation. Those that survive officially become Voidwalkers, an elite team that gets a NeuroSync chip implanted in their head that grants the user abilities and access to Prometheus' system.

Lies entangle her allies, blurring the line between friend and foe. As the stakes escalate, survival hinges on her ability to navigate the shadows of deception and decipher the true intentions of those around her.

A Different Virus - Laura's Story by CrystalScherer

This is a second view point from my original story - A Different Virus - Heartfire. I highly advise reading the original book first. Intro: Laura was a happy child without a care in the world. She loved her parents and life was perfect. Nothing seemed like it could go wrong. People started talking about a bad flu that was spreading and sending some into a coma. Her parents grew worried and stocked the house in case of a pandemic. Months later another virus appeared. Her family was shocked when the news people started reporting that zombies were actually real and not just part of a horror movie. They were appearing in every country. Her parents reassured her that none of the zombie sightings had been anywhere close to them. Her life is turned upside down when her father ends up in hospital with the bad flu and mother exiles her upstairs for her safety. She was never allowed downstairs again. Weeks pass and the streets become deserted with the exception of the red eyed zombies that wandered around. One night she notices a swiftly moving figure with glowing blue eyes in the street below. Should she call out or remain silent? Is this fleeting shadow something that can help her or could this mysterious figure be even more dangerous than the zombies themselves? ---------------------- Ranked #1 Apr 10, 2018 (A huge thank you to all who read and voted!) This story is copyright and built from my own imagination. This book was a special request from someone who helped me a lot. This viewpoint has less action than the original. The cover was made by @All_AboutAssymetry. A huge thanks to her! Copyright September 2016. All Rights Reserved. Readers may not copy, alter, or steal this story. When Mandy loses her job, she thinks she’s hit rock bottom – until her plane is swallowed by a strange storm that sends her and everyone else on board 10,000 years into the future. At first, she thinks the scary world is nothing more than a bad dream. The war-torn Earth is unrecognizable. Black fog blocks the sun, and the oceans are dry. Even worse: the planet is inhabited by half-human, half-alien creatures dying from a mysterious disease. Horrified at the thought of spending her life here, she clings to the knowledge that there’s one man who can open the star gate to send her home. As the Naki prince who controls the star gate, Akkadi gets first choice of any human female that makes her way through the star gate. Only by breeding with purebred humans from the past can his race hope to remain immune to the disease and hopefully, develop an eventual cure. With shrinking resources and a raging battle for the human planet, dutiful, commanding Akkadi is less than thrilled at the idea of trying to figure out Mandy, a woman he views as wild with neither discipline nor respect for someone in his position. He’s ready to write her off, when she offers him something too tempting to resist: her body for the chance to convince him by any means possible to send her home. Neither intends for the arrangement to be permanent or to fall for the other. Only when Mandy learns Akkadi’s secret and walks away does he realize he’ll do whatever it takes to keep her – even if it means losing his war.

In the year 2150, emotions are a forgotten language. Feelings, outlawed. Humanity, reduced to an unfeeling, cold existence under the iron rule of The Regimen. But deep in the monochrome labyrinth of this dystopian world, a glitch emerges in the matrix of perfection. Cora, a brilliant government engineer responsible for maintaining the emotion-suppressing technology, experiences an unexpected malfunction. Suddenly, she is overwhelmed by a wave of foreign sensations - emotions. An all-consuming vortex of joy, fear, anger, and a deep-seated love for her fellow engineer, Eli. In a world stripped of color, Eli is an enigma. A member of a burgeoning underground rebellion, he hides a powerful secret - a genetic mutation that makes him immune to emotion suppressants. Eli has known the pain and pleasure of feelings all his life. Now, he becomes Cora's compass in her chaotic new reality, guiding her through the wild storm of emotions and introducing her to a hidden world fighting for emotional freedom. Cora and Eli are drawn together by a bond neither can explain, a shared emotional journey that stands in quiet defiance against The Regimen's frigid rule. As Cora navigates the thrilling highs and devastating lows of human emotion, a choice looms - return to a life devoid of feelings, or risk everything for the rebellion and the tantalizing promise of emotional freedom. --------------- A 10 part series
